In the United States, EB1A (Alien of Extraordinary Ability), an umbrella category under Employed-based permanent residency, is available for foreign nationals who have achieved national or international acclaim in the arts, sciences, education, business, and athletics.
They are eligible to self-petition without an employment offer in the U.S. However, they must intend to work in the same field and must show how their expertise will be beneficial to the country.

Those who have achieved sustained national or international acclaim with documented achievements in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics.
An outstanding professor or researcher has “been recognized internationally for their outstanding academic achievements in a particular field” and has been teaching or conducting research in that area for at least three years. The applicant must also hold a tenured or tenured track teaching or comparable research position at a university or other higher education institution.
Some executives and managers of foreign companies who are transferred to the U.S. must have worked for at least one year in a managerial position outside of the United States during the last three years in the same company or a related company outside of the US.

Evidence of receipt of lesser nationally or internationally recognized prizes or awards for excellence
Evidence of membership in professional organizations that demand outstanding achievement from their members
Evidence of published material about you in professional or major trade publications or other major media
Evidence of judging the work of others, either individually or on a panel
Evidence of original scientific, scholarly, artistic, athletic, or business-related contributions of major significance to the field
Evidence of authorship of scholarly articles in professional or major trade publications or other major media
Evidence that work has been displayed at artistic exhibitions or showcases
Evidence of performance in a leading or critical role in distinguished organizations
Evidence of high salary or other significantly high remuneration in relation to others in the field
Evidence of commercial success in the performing arts
